Polish-American Internship Initiative

The Polish-American Internship Initiative is a program thanks to  which Polish students with excellent academic performance complete 2-3 month-long holiday internships in American reputed corporations.

The initiative is a joint undertaking of the Polish-American Freedom Foundation and the US Embassy in Poland. The institution implementing the program is the Educational Enterprise Foundation in cooperation with companies offering internships.

Internship participants

The internships may be applied for by students of at least 2nd year of full-time studies at Polish state universities, with very good command of English, excellent academic performance and involved in social activity, who have already shown outstanding abilities and commitment. The participants of the “Bridge Scholarships” and “Projektor-Wolontariat Studencki” [“Projector-Student Volunteer Work”] programs are particularly encouraged to apply.

The hosting U.S. companies invite one or more Polish interns for paid 2-3 month-long summer internships. The program organizers cover a part of travel costs and help students to obtain visas. The practical training is conducted according to a schedule prepared by the hosting company before the internship begins. In the course of the internship each intern may benefit from the support of their mentor who supervises their work, informs about progress and provides necessary support. Thus, students are given a chance to apply their knowledge in practice and gain professional experience by learning from the best.

In fourteen editions of PAII 121 young talented Polish students went to the United States to serve their internships in the following corporations:

Archer Daniels Midland Company, The Boeing Company, The Broadmoor, Citigroup, Chevron, Discovery Inc., GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy, MoneyGram, Pittsburgh Glass Works, Planting Arboretum Fields Historic Park, Raytheon BBN Technologies, Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation, Westinghouse Electric Company.
